A nation growing older, quickly
By the U.S. Census Bureau – March 27, 2018
The year 2030 will mark a demographic turning point for the United States: in that year, all Baby Boomers will be 65 or older, making one in every five Americans of retirement age. In 2035, the Census Bureau projects that older adults will edge out children in population size: those 65+ are expected to number 78.0 million, while children under age 18 will number 76.4 million.
Older Adult Population: 2020 to 2060
