Stop Procrastinating, Just Do It…Now

You can’t create breakthrough results in a short period of time. But you can take the first step of many right now. You can step onto the path and make a little progress. You can’t achieve major goals as quickly as you’d like. But you can take the small, individual actions that lead to the milestones along the way. Those small steps don’t feel like progress, but each one moves you ever closer to your goal. We overestimate what we can do in a short time, and underestimate what we can do in a longer time. It’s a little action every day. It’s showing up. It’s keeping at it. Bit by bit. Piece by piece. The breakthrough won’t be a dramatic single event. It won’t come with a parade, and no one will write songs about you. But you will look back, at some point down the road, and see the great distance you covered. You can do this.

Sitting down to plan your week this morning – on a Monday – is a poor strategy. It’s a bad way to plan your day, as well. It leaves you vulnerable to starting your week in reactive mode.
